Understanding the Web Interface

The information available through Arcadia Instant homepage helps you learn how to use our web interface.

Let's look at the default home page and all its features.

The default Homepage for Arcadia Instant contains the following items:

  1. Main or Top navigation, which enables you to directly access the following interfaces:
    • Home interface, described in this article.
    • Visuals interface, for building Visuals and Dashboards in Visual Designer, and for managing and launching Apps.
    • Data interface, with access to Datasets, Connections, and the Connection Explorer.

    • The (Admin) menu, which enables users to access Apps and check Job Status.

      Users with administrative privileges can make Site Administration changes to the following functionality:

      • The Users & Groups interface helps you to manage accounts of all users and user groups, and grant them varying privileges and levels of access.
      • The Manage Roles interface helps you to define roles as a set of privileges, and assign them to users or user groups.
      • The Custom Styles interface helps you to apply styling options for the appearance of visuals and applications.
      • The Custom Colors interface helps you to define custom color palettes for styling visuals and applications.
      • The Custom Dates interface helps you to define custom sets of date ranges, and anchor them to a specific date and time.
      • The Static Assets interface helps you to save and manage images, CSS files, and JS files as static assets, and use them across all reports to standardize the appearance and behavior of visuals and dashboards.
      • The Site Settings interface helps you to configure site-wide settings and settings at the level of individual visuals, dashboards, and filters.
    • Help menu, which includes information about features in the new release of Arcadia Instant, Documentation, Knowledge Base, YouTube videos, an e-mail to contact our support team (support@arcadiadata.com), and the release number of the running instance of Arcadia Instant.

    • User management menu, which includes password change and logout options. The username identifies the current user.

  2. A 3-Part Quick Start with Arcadia Instant pane helps you get started with our product. If you are an existing user, you can go directly to the Visuals or Data menu. If you are a new user, you can either read the Knowledge Base article or watch a video in each of the following sections.

    • Exploring Arcadia Instant explains how to download and install our product and then get business insights through data-driven visuals.
    • Connections, Data Imports, and Datasets explains how to connect to a data source, import data, create a dataset, create visuals from the dataset, and join multiple tables to enrich the data.
    • Working with Dashboards explains how to create a dashboard and link different visuals together through dashboard parameters.
  3. New Dashboard link helps you to create a new dashboard and add one or more visuals.
  4. Links under Other articles you should check out point to useful information on advance functionalities in Arcadia Instant .
